Our Curriculum
Reflect ⁕ Explain ⁕ Execute ⁕ Explore ⁕ Assess ⁕

AFSBYM Film Program curriculum features 6 units through the course of 16 weeks that is designed to present a general overview of script structure, film history, film language, production, technology, filmmaking, genres and making a final short film at the end of the 16 weeks. The course may fulfill either a Language or a STEAM (Art and Technology) elective requirement. We partner with and support school districts, charter schools, private schools, after school programs, organizations, clubs, libraries and production studios.
What students can expect...
This elective teaches students how to analyze and identify the importance of the art of filmmaking by reflecting, explaining, executing, evaluating and assessing through the craft of film. This elective will not be a “I only want to watch movies” course. If you are here for just that then you are in the wrong class. Will we be watching movies? Most definitely.
